Couples Therapy
Starting couples therapy is an acknowledgement that you can
indeed have more trust, safety and fulfillment in your relationship
together.
When I work with couples, we start by opening a conversation where each person’s feelings, experiences, and wishes can be expressed, and understood by the other. My role as your therapist is to facilitate your communication with each other, and support each member in identifying the deeper meaning to the conflict or block to intimacy you are experiencing.
Ultimately, our work together paves a way for new levels of love, communication, mutual respect, trust, and laughter to enter into your relationship. It allows for more freedom to be your full self with each other, and to know the joy of a partnership that strengthens you from the inside out. Family Therapy When family members are in sync with each other and promote each other’s best interests, there is a way in which all can feel right in the world. The reality so often though, is that in most families it becomes difficult to navigate your way through what can feel like competing interests, disagreements about family rules and values, and changing roles and expectations of each member.
As your therapist, I serve as a conduit to accessing your family’s strength and bond as a whole, while making room for the expression of each member’s unique role, self-definition and contribution to the family as a unit. Our first goal is in creating a safe, respectful atmosphere where real communication can take place.
As each person comes to feel free to express their self, we will begin to carve out new ways you can relate to each other, and connect to one another supportively. In time, our work should facilitate your family’s ability to flexibly deal with change, appreciate each person for who they are, and increase your capacity to feel connected and bonded with one another. |
